Viking Island Quest

Viking Island Quest in Dragon City

This is for the PC platform, the other version is for the moble: the Viking Challenge quest walkthrough on mobile platform.

There’s a new quest in Dragon City call Viking Island. It has 4 stages. The first reward is a new habitat called the Viking Habitat. Preliminary reports are that it holds up to 3 Flame element dragons with a max of 60,000 gold. Then there are 3 new dragons. Thor, Loki, and Odin.

Dragon City's new Quest is the Viking Island

The best thing about this quest is the Gold and Food requirements seem to be set much lower than past quests. It may actually be possible for most players to finish this one without spending Gems! I was able to finish the Gold requirements for the Habitat quest with less than the cost of a Star Shines.

First Viking Island Quest: Viking Habitat

Quest for the Viking Island Habitat Reward

The quest for the habitat requires that you break 10 panes of glass. 4 of the panes require Gold, and how much will be determined by your level. 3 panes require Horns, which are earned by sending gifts to friends. The gifts need to be accepted to count. 3 panes are broken with Hammers. You can get 1 Hammer every 12 hours by clicking on the yellow “Daily Collect” button in the quest screen.

  • 4 Gold: Amount determined by level. Can’t be directly rushed with Gems.
  • 3 Hammers: Daily Collect, receive on every 12 hours. 7 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • 12 Horns: Send Gifts (and have the accepted). 3 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).

With the cost so low for this quest, most players should be able to get the habitat in the first couple days without needing any Gems. The only tough part of the quest is waiting for the Hammers!

Second Viking Island Quest: Thor

Second Viking Island Quest for Thor Dragon

In the second part of the Viking Island quest you need to break another 10 panes of glass to get the Thor dragon. 4 panes of glass can be broken with Food. 3 panes are broken with Horns which you get when you send gifts to your friends (and they accept them). The other 3 panes are broken with Helmets which you get when breeding dragons.

  • 4 Food: Amount determined by level. Can’t be directly rushed with Gems.
  • 42 Horns: Send Gifts (and have the accepted). 10 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • 3600 Helmets: Breed for Helmets, 1 Helmet for every minute of breeding time. 10 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • Beat Thor!

How to Beat Thor Dragon

Thor’s elements are War and Flame, and they can attack with War, Flame, and Physical attacks. If you check the element strengths and weaknesses chart you will see that War attacks critical hit against Terra and Sea elements. Flame critical hits against Sea and Ice. So don’t use a dragon with Terra, Sea, or Ice primary elements!

War’s weaknesses are against Sea and Ice based attacks. So use a dragon with Sea or Ice as a second or third element. I used Pure Sea [Pure,Sea] with trained Acid Rain attack against Thor and won even thought I went second.

Third Viking Island Quest: Loki

Viking Island's Loki Quest Requirements

  • 4 Food: Amount determined by level. Can’t be directly rushed with Gems.
  • 24 Horns: Send Gifts (and have the accepted). 4 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • 6 Hammers: Daily Collect, receive on every 12 hours. 9 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • Beat Loki!

How to Beat Loki

Loki’s elements are War, Flame, and Dark. War attacks critical hit against Terra and Sea elements. Flame critical hits against Sea and Ice. Dark critical hits against Metal and Light. So don’t use a dragon with Terra, Sea, Ice, Metal, or Light primary elements!

War’s weaknesses are against Sea and Ice based attacks. So use a dragon with Sea or Ice as a second or third element. I used Hydra [Electric,Sea] with trained Whirlpool attack, and won even though I went second.

Fourth Viking Island Quest: Odin

Odin Quest Requirements for Viking Island

  • 4 Food: Amount determined by level. Can’t be directly rushed with Gems.
  • 24 Horns: Send Gifts (and have the accepted). 4 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • 3600 Helmets: Breed for Helmets, 1 Helmet for every minute of breeding time. 3 Gems to rush each pane (x3 panes).
  • Beat Odin!

How to Beat Odin

Odin’s elements are War, Flame, and Light. War attacks critical hit against Terra and Sea elements. Flame critical hits against Sea and Ice. Dark critical hits against Electric and Dark. So don’t use a dragon with Terra, Sea, Ice, Electric, or Dark primary elements!

War’s weaknesses are against Sea and Ice based attacks. So use a dragon with Sea or Ice as a second or third element. I screwed up and used Hydra [Electric,Sea] again with trained Whirlpool attack, and won easily when going first. Odin didn’t use a Light based attack against me, so maybe Electric and Dark primary elements are ok to use. But better safe than sorry!
